Steam Boiler Installs

Steam heating is a dying art. Just because a contractor is a boiler installer doesn't mean they have the expertise to install a Steam boiler. From the proper header design to water level and return design, amateur installations will cost you money in efficiency(10-30%) and longevity, causing your boiler to fail prematurely. Our bids include removal of the old boiler as well as installation.
When we come out depending on the size of the heating system an estimate can take up to an hour to complete. We will need to measure the EDR(Equivalent Direct Radiation) in order to properly size the system and get measurements in the basement to determine location and piping layout. This is also a good time to examine the steam traps and vents to ensure that the steam can get through the system quickly. After and estimate is approved we can normally get the job started within 1 to 2 weeks in the summer and have the installation completed within 1 to 2 weeks after beginning the install depending on the size of the system.
We design our systems using the expertise learned from Dan Holohan, the industry leader in steam heating. Our systems are designed to exceed code standards and maintain efficiency and safety for decades. Every installation has a properly installed Hartford Loop and steam headers. The Hartford Loop is designed to prevent dangerous low water conditions in the event of a leak in the return piping. A properly designed steam header will remove as many water droplets as possible to make the steam as dry and efficient as possible.
